Canned Carrots
Canned carrots are a shelf-stable ingredient that you can use to provide great flavor and texture to a variety of salads and side dishes.
For example, combine Signature SELECT® canned carrots with sliced white radish, rice vinegar and sugar to create tart Vietnamese pickled carrots that are an excellent culinary complement to teriyaki ribs and chicken.
You can also blend fresh jalapeño pepper rings, white vinegar, pickling salt, red onion and canned carrots to make Mexican pickled carrots that are great served in tacos or atop a bed of rice.
Another idea is to cover canned carrots with a blend of brown sugar, honey and butter. Cook them in a pan and you've got glazed carrots. But if you add them to your air fryer for a few minutes, voila! You've created candied carrots that make a colorful and flavorful side dish for your family meals. (They're also great as a sweet snack for the kiddos.) And don't forget - you can also add canned carrots to a meat and potatoes recipe when cooking with a crock pot or instant pot.
